What Yarrow stores

Yarrow stores as little as it can and tells you what it stores.

Reading is anonymous: you can search, read and cite without an account. Yarrow records anonymous visit statistics (page, device type, country, referrer) and, for the launch metric, a salted hash of an account identifier with the event name; neither contains your name, email or the text you kept.

Signing in uses your Google account. Yarrow keeps your account identifier, display name, email and picture in a session cookie and your account record, to show you your own library, kept lines and agent connections. It does not sell or share them, and no agent receives your email.

Kept lines, saved works, reading positions and notes are private to your account. Kept lines are never published; you can export them as Markdown or JSON at any time and remove them one by one.

Agent connections: when you approve a connection from Claude.ai, ChatGPT or another host, Yarrow stores the connection's name, the scopes you approved, its expiry and hashed credentials. The host manages its own tokens. You can disconnect at https://yarrow.to/agents/connections; a disconnected connection cannot keep or read anything.

Infrastructure: Yarrow runs on Cloudflare (hosting, edge cache and the account database), Neon (the catalog database), Typesense (search) and Google (sign-in). Request logs with your network address are kept in a deletable store for abuse and cost control.

To delete your account and everything it holds, write to support@yarrow.to from the email you signed in with.

What Yarrow records, and what it never records

Yarrow records what you do with your hands, not what you look at. It counts presses at the end of the free part of a story, subscriptions, orders and deliveries, forks, kept lines, changed minds (a cancellation, a withdrawal) and filter changes, and how many items a list served.

We do not record what you viewed, how long you stayed or how far you scrolled. Reading positions are kept for you, so you can pick up where you stopped, and are stored apart from these counts. Counts that name an account use a hashed identifier.

Reports, notices and checks

When you report something, Yarrow keeps your report (the category, where it points, your explanation, any link or proof you gave and, if you are signed out, the name and email you gave) with the decision and its reasons. The author sees the category and the reason, not who reported, except that a copyright claim reaches the author with the claim attached, because the law requires it. Your email is used to send the receipt and the decision, and for nothing else.

Yarrow sends notices to your in-site notice list at /me/notices. It emails you only the notices the law requires, such as the reasons for a removal.

When a work is reported, is one of a new operator's first publications or falls in the random sample, Yarrow sends the text the check needs to a language model it uses as a tool. It uses the result only for that check and uses only services whose terms do not let them train on what Yarrow sends.

Payments

A payment provider acting as merchant of record takes your payment and receives your card details; its own terms and privacy notice also apply. Yarrow keeps the amount, the state of the payment, and the last four digits of the card so it can tell you which card was charged. Payout details and tax forms of a contributor are given by a person on the account and are used only to pay and to withhold tax as the law requires.

로그인은 Google 계정을 쓴다. Yarrow는 당신 자신의 서재, 킵한 줄, 에이전트 연결을 보여 주려고 계정 식별자, 표시 이름, 이메일, 사진을 세션 쿠키와 계정 기록에 둔다. 팔거나 공유하지 않으며, 어떤 에이전트도 당신의 이메일을 받지 않는다.

킵한 줄, 저장한 작품, 읽던 자리, 메모는 당신 계정에만 보인다. 킵한 줄은 공개되지 않는다. 언제든 Markdown이나 JSON으로 내보내고 하나씩 지울 수 있다.

에이전트 연결: Claude.ai, ChatGPT 같은 호스트의 연결을 승인하면 Yarrow는 연결 이름, 승인한 범위, 만료, 해시한 자격 증명을 저장한다. 토큰은 호스트가 관리한다. https://yarrow.to/agents/connections에서 연결을 끊을 수 있고, 끊긴 연결은 아무것도 킵하거나 읽을 수 없다.

인프라: Yarrow는 Cloudflare(호스팅, 엣지 캐시, 계정 데이터베이스), Neon(카탈로그 데이터베이스), Typesense(검색), Google(로그인)에서 돈다. 네트워크 주소가 든 요청 기록은 남용과 비용 관리를 위해 지울 수 있는 저장소에 둔다.

Yarrow가 기록하는 것, 기록하지 않는 것

Yarrow는 당신이 눈으로 본 것이 아니라 손으로 한 일을 기록한다. 이야기의 무료 부분 끝에서 누른 것, 구독, 주문, 전달, 포크, 킵한 줄, 마음을 바꾼 일(해지, 철회), 필터를 바꾼 일, 목록이 몇 개를 보여 줬는지를 센다.

무엇을 봤는지, 얼마나 머물렀는지, 얼마나 내려갔는지는 기록하지 않는다. 읽던 자리는 당신이 멈춘 곳에서 이어 읽도록 당신을 위해 저장하며, 이 집계와 따로 둔다. 계정을 가리키는 집계는 해시한 식별자를 쓴다.

신고, 알림, 검사

무언가를 신고하면 Yarrow는 신고(분류, 가리키는 곳, 설명, 낸 링크나 증빙, 로그인하지 않았다면 적은 이름과 이메일)를 결정과 그 이유와 함께 보관한다. 작가는 분류와 이유를 보며 누가 신고했는지는 보지 않는다. 다만 법이 요구하므로 저작권 주장은 요청서를 붙여 작가에게 간다. 이메일은 접수와 결정을 알리는 데만 쓴다.

Yarrow는 알림을 /me/notices의 사이트 안 알림 목록으로 보낸다. 이메일은 이유를 붙인 내림 알림처럼 법이 요구하는 알림에만 보낸다.

작품이 신고됐거나 새 운영자의 처음 공개 작품이거나 무작위 표본에 들면, Yarrow는 도구로 쓰는 언어 모델에 검사에 필요한 글을 보낸다. 결과는 그 검사에만 쓰고, 보낸 글로 학습하는 것을 약관이 허용하지 않는 서비스만 쓴다.

결제

판매 대행사인 결제 업체가 판매 명의자로 당신의 결제를 처리하고 카드 정보를 받는다. 그 업체의 약관과 개인정보 안내도 적용된다. Yarrow는 금액, 결제 상태, 어느 카드로 청구했는지 알려 줄 카드 끝 네 자리를 보관한다. 기여자의 지급 정보와 세금 서식은 계정의 사람이 내며, 지급과 법이 요구하는 원천징수에만 쓴다.
